The gardens of the Parterre, is one of the areas that attracts the most attention in the Retiro Park, the French Parterre is located on the west side of the Retiro Park, right at the door that points towards the Casуn del Buen Retiro and towards the Paseo del Prado.
The construction of the Parterre is the result of a reform projected in the reign of Felipe V in the 18th century.
They are made up of a geometric layout of paths, with perfectly trimmed hedges and flowers of all colors and cypress trees trimmed with whimsical and striking shapes.
