Katoria used to be a very aristocratic place. Doltso (a region of Kastoria) proudly displays the architecture that bloomed during those days of aristocracy. Many of the Greeks who were forced to leave their lives in Constantinople (Istabul which once belonged to Greece) behind, built themselves a new life in Kastoria. Therefore, their houses, the Kastorian households, give off an intense anatolian vibe. Many of those buildings are now open to the crowd as folklore museums. Fireplaces, kneading and fur making tools as well as wine cellars and traditional clothing can be seen there among other things.
