This theme is dedicated to the fractals of nature.

Mandelbrot defined fractals: "a fractal is a shape made of parts similar to the whole in some way". Natural fractals are limited in how far you can go with the rescaling (due to size of atoms etc). Typical fractals in nature are leaves, branches on a tree, a coastline or the path of a small particle in a fluid.
