You will be hard pressed to find 'clean lines' in India -- a definitive constant structure is very difficult to locate. A multitude of people, cultures, designs, architectures create a queer symphony of unstructured lines. The net result of this chaos being that images from this part of the world appear rough, coarse, littered with conflicting geometries and often incomplete and out of a certain train of harmony. You do not find areas demarcated conclusively. Lines merge haphazardly, colours run in and out, and so on. The bright Indian Sun is the biggest mischief-maker -- harsh and constant, it plays the perfect spoilsport for the most perfect of shots.

These are perhaps the reasons why pictures from this part of the world seem so...down to earth. They may not always have the 'wow' factor; they may not always be 'picturesque'; but if you can, in your country, walk out and touch the grass growing beneath your feet, or raise your voice in protest, or catch the falling rain, or just lie down under the open sky in a corn field, then you'll appreciate these pictures.
