Photographer's Note

Every morning in the year, crowds of tourists and faithful proceed to the Duomo in Florence. More than a few must have been distracted from their artistic or religious thoughts by this provoking picture splashed across the faade of a department store, just opposite Brunelleschi's masterpiece, nicely framed by its world-famous marbles. The arch on the left is part of the Loggia del Bigallo (XIVth century).
