1.the first carpet in the world is woven in Iran : Pasiric Carpet, 350 - 500 B.C.
2.the carpet is a combination of thousands of knots which are made on parallel lines on the base strings.
3.the basic design of persian carpets is 2 different types :
- patterns made of straight ( & angled ) lines
- patterns made of curved lines
4. three main characteristics of persian carpet are:
- the quality of the woolused for carpet
- the stability of colors ( natural colors )
- original & traditional patterns & plans

the wool of Iranian sheep is known as the best kind of wool for carpet weaving, for their curls & combination of the thickness &n the lengh .
