Evening sky, a photo from Zuid Holland, South

Photographer's Note

After being levelled in WW2, modern Rotterdam is a quite vertical, industrial city, at least much more so than any other dutch city I visited.
As the sun was setting I ran across this view of verticals close to the wonderful Erasmus bridge designed by Ben van Berkel.

Hi Torben, well, you managed to really show them, these verticals. I like the evening mood. I love the moment, as if he's observed, and thus 'protected' by the traffic lights. The blur is great.
I suppose you used some sort of camera support?
(I used to rehearse with my chamber choir in that part of a boat, the Rotterdam boys choir"

Hej Torben! I like all the vertical lines making this very industrial, yet you know there is water (the boat), and with that organic shapes, aswell as the "organic" shape of the man enhanced by the motion blur. Good blue hour feel ;o)

wow! Hi Torben, glad to see back among us! and what a comeback!! i love this ghost of a man passing by in this world of sharp vertical picks looking at the sky! it has a certain poetic touch for me! well done!

the photo was composed with that strong mass of steel in the middle... on the left side, pin like shapes and buildings, cranes. but the acute angles in the street lights invade the right half of your composition, more vertical buildings, masts, the boat and the enormous, really tremendous fragility of the man, ghost like silhouette, the only moving o/subject leaving the frame. The yellows are a subtle touch in this sea of purple blue sathin.
and you still show hints of Rotterdam.
EDITED: that line on the right bothers me...
is there a visual aesthetics for modern poetry?

I really like this shot. The repetition of vertical lines is great, as is the blurred hurrying figure of the man.
And its all set against that nice evening sky.
