Is this the place where the cave located (the cave where the Prophet received the first "wahyu")? My 70 year old uncle spoke about climbing a mountain and going into a cave with a tiny entrance somewhere near Mecca. Your photo gives me a better idea of the place he was talking about. Nice picture showing the height & the dwelling down below.

Good and unique picture ..
This place is located near Mecca (One of three holy cities in Islam: Mecca, Medina and Jerusalem). On this mountain there are caves where Prophet Mohammed receives the message of Islam from the god (around 610). Muslims believe that the word of God was revealed to him by the archangel Gabriel , who said, "Recite in the name of thy Lord …" (Sura 96)in a cave in this mountain. These revelations were subsequently collected and codified as the Qur’an.
Muslims pilgrims usually visit this place to remember the prophet of Islam.

This is a unique picture of a very intreguing ritual. Why don't you add a note to give some more information? The depth in this picture is breathtaking - I can almost feel the wind around my ears...

Hello Suleyman
Wow! Amazing capture. Very interesting place full of men, without any woman ;). So crowdy, that it seems hard to breathe. Also nice view of the background town.
Greetings for you and your wife.
P.S. Thanks to BilalN for explanations.

Très intéressante photo, j'aurais aimé voir une note explicative. Ça semble haut, très haut et pourquoi ces gens montent-ils sur cette colline? Bien fait!.

Anyway, it is a well done work.

A fantastic picture of this crowded picture dominating the misty and chaotic constructions below. Very good framing, the view is plunging.
Interesting picture for non muslims that are not allowed around there !

Hi Suleyman,
Wow! What an amazing POV.
The unclarity of the city below help to emphasize the subject of your pic.
As all the other here, I wish you gave some note about this place.
Thanks,

Wow, Suleyman, thanks for sharing this fantastic picture with us, especially since it's something most of us will never be able to see. Usually I prefer to comment and give smileys to pictures that I think are underrated, but I couldn't help commenting on this one.

Merhaba Suleyman, this is a great photo, mostly because of your excellent POV. It gives one a bird's eye-view of the city, and there's lots of interesting detail in the shot. I know that this must be part of the haj, but would like to hear more. A note to the photo would have been useful. Regards,
Ryno
