Frenzy, a photo from Mazowieckie, East

Photographer's Note

I promised to post something tilted. And I find it is both a high time to have a breake from Tenerife holiday mood, and to make a tribute to our friend Francis (Furachan ) whose way of composing the photos is so inspiring. I personally find him being the master of TE in the cathegory which I call "Tilted Daily Life Images".
This photo was taken last Sunday in the most appreciated park in Warsaw - Park Lazienkowski during the outdoor event presenting different folk and daily life theater groups, bands, dance groups and so on.
For shooting this picture I used my beloved Sigma 50-500 mm APO lens which I collected from the service after a 6-months repair period only two days before the event.

Świetnie pochylone, że tak powiem! Bardzo umiejętnie przechyliłeś kadr - tak, że zdjęcie nabiera dynamiki, nie mуwiąc już o poprawie kompozycji - układ tancerek wydaje się być bardziej pionowy, niż by to było przy wypoziomowanym kadrze.

Great tilt indeed and perfectly appropriate as it gives some dynamics to your framing. But also I think your subject was really demanding likewise tilt operation if you look at all the Z shapes inside the image.

geat framing idea too!

funny outfit, it looks like you'd have to get your scissors out and cut according to the dot lines...

Hi Jerzy,
The tilt works very good here indeed.I like the tight framing here a lot,excellent sharpness and dof.
50-500?-sounds like a heavy Cannon!
I still have a Sigma 2,8 28-70,the problem is that it has a backfocus problem on the 20D.
I send it to Sigma and they put a new chip into the lense for free,I got it back after 4 weeks but it still has the same backfocus problem..So this experience will keep me away from Sigma.

Good use of the tilt for your photo, Jerzy, and a well-chosen subject with the dancers in the vivid blue gear making a nice diagonal. Also a nice graphical component provided by the outfits. Good work with the exposure, and nice bokeh you got with the telezoom.

Hi Jerzy, A nice bright color of the dancing form. I like the DoF and the nice focus you have to your main subjects. The tilting works well for my tunable monitor :D

I have just discovered your gallery and the idea of tilted images is new to me. I have to say that the tilt really suits this subject, as in a strange way it doesn't look tilted until you have a closer look. Your top and bottom banding finishes off the image well.
