Photographer's Note
young girls from Iznik, waiting for their turn to be extras in a commercial..
I am not sure what category this is: as they are local people, but the reason of their being there is for a tv commercial..
they would be picking olives in harvest time, in similar clothes and tools (climbing up the ladders, collecting them into their baskets tied to their waists)...

This is a very nice picture, of course based on your note, since they were there to make a comercial, they should look nice. I think your framing and choice of B/W works well to convey the intimacy of the two actresses. Well done.

Very beautiful shot. I like the way the curve of the tree follows the woman on the left. The attitude of the other woman deepens the feeling of intimacy. The stair, even hidden on the background, explains the scene wonderfully. And the fabric onthe ground, of course, adds movement and texture. Have you tried other angles?

Merhaba fusun
I like such scenery of Turkey very much.
Because Iznik also goes also by me in a few years ago and did the picnic under the olive
tree, it misses it very much.
Whether they are beautiful because of CM however because they are actresses??

Such a lovely and moody picture thanks to the traditionnal clothes of the olives pickers - It must be just the intention of the TV people. And you have accentuated that by the choice of B&W and use sepia tone.
We know their attitude is played as you told us that, but the scene still keep a natural look - [I just maybe regret a feeling of a slight tilt in the composition?]
Anyway, it's well achieved, thank you for sharing...

very beautiful soft image.
the light is superb.
I like the compo, it is very good with the tilt, one discovers the scale in background.

Outstanding shot, Fusun. There is something timeless from another century, so arranged like a painter scene that we knew it couldn't be totally "authentic", even though it's the backstage that you shot and the girls are at their natural.
It's like advertisements for cream or milk the old fashioned way, the milk woman looks more old fashioned than the period it's supposed to refer to.
Anyway, the many details in this shot makes it really interesting, so is your very well balanced composition.

This one does it for me big time Fusun, remember picking olives myself, not an easy job but we had lots of fun.
This image with it's slight sepia tint, traditional clothing, mountain background, really gives me an impression of the perfect country style life.

ooooooooooooh very close to tin type photography.. however tin types geneally have a very low depth of field (at least the ones i've come across as yet)..
you're getting great at working with your photographs :)

Guauuuuuuu Fusun: This could be a frame of the turkish version of "The virgin spring" by Ingmar Bergman... Great light, great poetry, cinematographic mood. Take care and keep posting, please, do not forget us.

Hello Fusan,
This is the first time I found your gallery, you have nice picture there. But this one really captured my eye, this is only the first page, but before going to the next one I thought let me put my Comment here. The Environment of this picture is similar to "Kashmir" at our country. You must have seen some Kashmir picture taken by SMC. I like the sepia tone and nice mood here, everybody already said it all, this is going to my all time Fav.

Hi Fusun
Is this a shot from a movie.....?
Wonderful atmosphere and well chosen in B&W, although the clothes contrasting to all the green would be nice too I guess.

Selamlar

This is just lovely, it has a real charm about it Fusan. It's funny but it looks so good you can see why it is being chosen for a commercial. Just wonderful.
