The stone alignment of Le Menec near Carnac/Brittany.

There are 1169 menhirs aligned in 12 rows and for a stretch of 1165 m. Alignments were done frequently in Brittany, but they can also be found in England, Scandinavia and western Switzerland. Some of them point into the directions of sunrise or sunset at summer solstice.
