Photographer's Note
The head of the Athabasca Falls is marked by an extensive, wide-ranging concentration of limestone rocks. Limestone is formed of carbonate, sedimentary rocks, often composed, over numerous millennia, of skeletal fragments comprising marine organisms. Almost 10% of all sedimentary rocks are limestone. These Falls offer a clear-cut instance of such geology. Oh, not all of the ice and snow has melted yet. After all, it is only May 12th.
