Seville Cathedral is the largest Gothic church in the world, and certainly hard to fit in one picture. It was consecrated in 1507.
Here's the eastern side of the cathedral and the most distinctive feature of cathedral, the Giralda bell tower. It was originally built as the minaret for the Great Mosque of Seville. The tower was completed in 1198. The belfry and the statue on its top, called "El Giraldillo" was added in 16th century.

Hello Kari,
I had no idea Seville had the largest cathedral of this kind. Consecrated in 1507 it must also be among the last Gothic cathedrals. You were lucky with a very good light, and you found a good place for taking the photo. The trees on both sides mean a lot to the composition, and of course the people are equally important. It's a very well taken photo with really nice colours.

I see that you enjoyed beautiful weather in Sevilla. On April, 22nd I was in Malaga and it wasn't that sunny there.
Good framing of the Giralda with the branches at both sides of the photo.
Wonderful architecture, well presented with a lively foreground.

Hello Kari, I have been to Seville and seen the cathedral, but I was unaware of the information that you have now shared, I wish that I had known it then!
This is a lovely view, it looks beautiful in the bright sunlight. The many details are in sharp focus. The trees either side frame the shot and keep our eyes within the frame.
The people provide extra colour and scale, as well as movement.

What a beautiful cathedral with many wonderful and fascinating details and ornaments, which your photo reveals perfectly. The sharpness and clarity were excellent on this sunny day. The people in the square add a good sense of scale as well.

hahaha, did you notice the man kneeling down to kiss his wife's pregnant belly??? its in the middle of the frame, that's awesome. easy to see why its so hard to fit into the frame as its so large, the largest in the World of its kind. Very attractive vertical framing with warm light. striking image

la giralda is one of the most beautiful towers we have in the world. I remember the first time I saw it in a photo and when I visited it. very nice this view escaping from the ordinary POV.

I visited Seville but it was a long, long time ago and I don't remember this cathedral.
Looking at your picture it was nice to refresh old memories.
