Photographer's Note

back after a few days skiing in the Swiss alps, we continue with our series on NYC.
This time the famous lady liberty is silhouetted against the waning evening light in NYC harbor. The picture was taken from the brooklyn side of the brooklyn bridge, in the small park underneath the bridge itself.
Until that day I have seen the lady only in Colmar, France from where its constructor Frйderic Auguste Bartholdi was from. Colmar is a very pleasing alascian town with lots of charm, situated only 30km from my hometown Basel.

Lovely silhouette of this NYC icon at dusk, Daniel. I know the bridge of which you speak, so I know this shot probably used the full capacity of your zoom; the sharpness and quality are both excellent, and I like the composition as well, with the statue facing out of frame and out to sea. The hazy colors are beautiful and evocative, with just a touch of vignetting giving it a classic feel. Nicely done, and happy new year!

Great shot of the iconic lady, you have captured her majesty and scale very well here, with a great light and sky behind. Nice to see this new angle too.

I seen your note about coming to Ireland too, delighted to hear that! If I can offer you any advice on places to see, stay or anything else while you are in Ireland, please let me know. Would be delighted to suggest some places if its any help!

You capture usual object from unsual appraoch as your own originality. Silluet is veruy very fantastic. Simple but so impressive image as usual. I like light color very much. I hope this year will be good one in all meanings to us. Thank you for your nice posting and have a good start of 2013!

This is creative way of showing a picturesque impression of this famous landmark with good composition and viewpoint. Looking at this statue, the symbol of freedom is a real pleasure indeed and the wiggles further creates the vibrancy too the total picture, Simply great approach, and captured nicely. Congrats. TFS
Sincerely you need to check the white balace for better color rendition, hopefully it's acceptable to you.
