Photographer's Note

I'm not normally in the habit of reposting photos, especially photos others have marked as favorites. But I haven't cared for the processing on this photo since I posted it. Until now, I didn't know how to improve on it.

Enter Adobe Lightroom. Henk was right: Lightroom is awesome. To eliminate most of the blowout in the clouds and lighten the trees a bit, I used Lightroom's graduated filter tool (which rocks) to selectively lighten or darken these parts. This allowed me to increase the contrast on lightened areas, so that they looked lighter without looking washed out. That was the main difference.

Hopefully everyone can see the difference between the two. I think it's an improvement over the old one. Thoughts?
