Photographer's Note
There are an estimated 4 to 5 million sadhus in India. They have given up all material and sexual attachements in life and dedicate themselves to achieving liberation through meditation and contemplation. They seem to be widely respected by the general population. They are often seen wearing ochre colored clothes, can anyone tell me the significance of this garment or color?
Shot in Varanasi on the ghats.
