Photographer's Note

As every year, on 24th June, people from over the world gathers at the ancient fortress of Sachsayhuaman in one of the hills that surround Cuzco, the imperial capital of the Inca Empire, to see the representation of the Inti Raymi, the Festival of the Sun, dedicated to the god Inti, the Sun.

A large amount of actors from Cuzco participate in so large representation that last almost the whole day, beggining at the palace of the Qoricancha throught the cuzco streets till reaching the final ceremony at Sachsayhuaman, where the Inca himself makes an offering to the Inca god Inti.

Speaking in Quechua all the time, without translation, priests, generals, and the Inca, display their roles as hundreds of years before, making the Inti Raymi one of the oldest celebrations since the last Inca left his place on earth.
