As apachetas eram usadas de duas maneiras:

Entre as pedras eram colocadas folhas de coca, quinoa, milho, trigo para que Pacha Mama, a divindade mбxima dos povos andinos lhes dessem o que foi colocado ali. Pacha mama й relacionada com a terra, a fertilidade, a mгe, o feminino. Uma espйcie de altar que substituiu os antigos sacrifнcios humanos que eram feitos nos vulcхes.

Outra maneira era como marcaзгo de locais e indicaзгo de caminhos para as pessoas que transitavam pelo deserto.

Hoje em dia й sу uma mania de turistas.

The man looking to the far land and mountains added life to the willow scenery, Luis.
Placed hoim well within the frame, off-center picture, gave "enough" space to the snow slopes to be evident.

It's a beautiful composition with a perfect foreground of the person watching the view and the magical stones. I love the view across the yellow field towards the hills partly covered with snow. It's a photo telling us about nature and culture and you have presented it very well.

Existe ainda uma terceira maneira, que й imitar os outros montes de pedra, que acho que й o que boa parte dos turistas fazem por lб, por isso й interessante a sua nota explicando as tradiзхes. Uma bela foto mostrando a pouca vegetaзгo que existe por lб contrastando com as montanhas nevadas ao fundo! Bom travalho!

The 3 fg rocks or piles of rocks add depth and layering to this superb landscape composition. The seated person provides scale and animates the scene. A wonderful warm cold color contrast between the blue sky and yellow tussock grass. Perfect sharpness and framing. Tfs!
