Photographer's Note
Taken on the way down from the Torres del Paine in Chilean Patagonia. I believe these are called lenticular clouds, caused by high winds at high altitude going over mountains.

I like the way you composed this shot,it's really clearly shows what these clouds are , but I think you could have cropped the top as the cllouds at this arwa are blurred and do not add anything to it.

Great clouds, I must say! They really are worth of capturing. The mountain is a nice element but I would crop the image from the bottom so that the little green area with trees in the bottom right would crop out. Then there were only the white and blue tones left...

Such an amazing sky! Congratulations on the captured clouds & colours!
But I think the landscape is complety lost under such a sky...

Fascinating cloud formation - I think the land at the bottom helps to give an idea of scale, although I agree with olli that the green is perhaps a little distracting.

Wonderful. This shot is not about landscape, it's about the magnificent clouds. They are amazing. Very nicely framed and composed. Good shot!

Very nice but I would prefer also to see only the clouds. I think it should be more surprising, IMO.
Anyway it's a good shot. Well seen

Whoa, love the clouds. I even like the mountains. Gives an anchor to the composition.

These clouds are cool, no question about that. I would love to know the details of this shot, especially exposure time, as it looks as though it was a long one. The only downside to this photo is that the land is kind of flat and uninteresting, although it is needed to anchor the shot I think. Hard to have it all I guess.

Impressive clouds, but of course something happen with landscape, I agree with Olli about cut the little green area, I believe than really disturb a little bit in the image.

Although the green is a bit distracting, I think cropping it out would ended up hurting the composition of the image. I like it enough as it is.

I think this is a great shot any way you crop it. My personal feeling is that the clouds alone make a great shot.

Superb Clouds, so beautiful and impresive.
You did very well in cropping earth part, from my point of view, I would crop more.
Nice blue sky in contrast with the long clouds.
Good definition, and really a beautiful sky scenary.

Splendid sky! Sometimes Nature makes photography quite easy, but nicely captured too.

Beautiful clouds. I would go for the vertical composition, or have used a wider lens if possible. Anyway, the picture came out very well.

Spectacular! Magnificent sky in a beautiful and wild country. I hope to visit that land one day. I understand why some may not want the land to show below, but I actually think it adds to the photo because the colors of the land blend well with the sky, IMO.

The sky is spectacular, and the bit of landscape at the bottom actually adds to the immensity of the space above, a wonderful and dynamic landscape

Unbelivble shot.
I have never seen skies like that.
The decision to compose it with so much sky and with the movement of the cloud is brilliant.
Very well done!

You could go to Patagonia solely to photograph its incredible skies, such are their majesty, and this shows just how intriguing they can be. Mesmerising, though I second the recommendation for a slight cropping at the top.
