Photographer's Note

Roberto Burle Marx is the most famous landscaper of Brazil, who created many beautiful gardens in Rio de Janeiro and Brasнlia. Once he thought why Brazilians didn't use their own plants in gardens instead of the foreign plants ?
This huge square, created in 1970, is located few meters far from the gate of headquarters I showed you before. It is told Burle Marx was visiting Cristalina city where he and his assistant Haruyoshi Ono saw the local crystals and became fascinate by them and were inspired to create these gardens, using plants of Cerrado (Brazilian Savana).
There are some islands in the geometric lake and I presume the view during the day light is amazing too.

Roberto Burle Marx й o mais famoso paisagista do Brasil, ele que criou muitos jardins em Brasнlia e no Rio de Janeiro. Certa vez ele se perguntou: por que os brasileiros nгo usam as plantas nativas em seus jardins ao invйs das plantas estrangeiras ?
Essa imensa praзa fica localizada poucos metros adiante do portal do quartel do exйrcito que mostrei antes. Burle Marx e seu assistente Haruyoshi Ono estavam visitando a cidade de Cristalina quando ficaram maravilhados com os cristais de lб e decidiram usar aquelas formas na nova praзa que ergueram em 1970, usando ali plantas originais do cerrado.
O lago da praзa tem formas geomйtricas e ilhotas, imagino que deva ser lindo mesmo durante o dia.

Hello Jorge,
Like many well exposed nighttime photos this has a fine atmosphere. The blue figures are interesting and are very nicely reflected in the water, along with the lights from the lamps and the illuminated parts of trees.

Hi Jorge,
Great place for the night walk. Plenty of attractive photogenic subjects and nicely lit as well. Here the reflection added a nice touch and also the lights turned into the stars.

Hello Jorge, the dark night-time sky is the perfect backdrop for the purple 'crystals', especially as they are placed in or close to the water, so effecting a good reflection.
The street lights do indeed look like stars.

A great photo of this square with the large pond, which reflected the large work of art in the middle very nicely as well. Its purple and blue illuminations stand out very well from the darkness.
