Photographer's Note
JK (Juscelino Kubitsckek de Oliveira) was a poor orphan boy from Minas Gerais, got to study because a priest and became a doctor and worked in the civil war of 1932. Sara, the daughter of a politician fell en love for him and the politic adventure was only begun. He became mayor of the capital of Minas, governor of Minas and then he became president of Brazil. During elections campaign a man of this region asked him if he would have courage to move the capital from Rio to central Brazil, a project dreamed since 18th century. And he promised that, and created a modern city in the wilderness.
This is a curious building, very small, a mix os sculpture and museum. It has the shapes of a T, here we can see only the base, on its interior you have the texts, wrote in marble, of old politicians, during centuries, saying about necessity to build a new capital in central Brazil. You can see the face of JK facing the Three Powers Square.
Why this supermarket cart is here ? Curiously, watching the news I discovered after Covid-19 pandemic a man had a small enterprise that entered in bankruptcy and he was cleaning cars in the square to survive.
............

Hello Jorge,
Monuments to great political leaders (and sometimes the not so great) are usually boring, but the shopping cart and the tight crop makes this a nice composition. It is eye-catching in a place like this and there is a nice diagonal balance between it and the president's head. I like the inclusion of the pigeons which seem to use the statesman's head as their toilet (as pigeons usually do).
Best regards,
Gert

Hi Jorge,
Covid 19 has created a lot of problems for companies and for the persons. The point of view is showing the details of the monument and of the cart. It is clear and precise. Have a nice day.

Hello Jorge, your notes are interesting and explain thoroughly what the shot is all about.
I have learnt something new today.
The pigeons are like sentries standing above on their ledge!
I had wondered if the shopping trolley perhaps belonged to a home person.
Kind regards, Jean.

Hello Jorge,
What an interesting story linked to the monument, which is both original and attractive!
The fact that the head is proud of the wall makes it appear that he is surveying the neighbourhood, whilst the pigeons are also on lookout duty.
The scene is well composed, the abandoned trolley making a surprising balance.
My warm regards,
Bev 😊

Hi Jorge,
Interesting story of the president and the shopping cart.
I see the pigeons love this place, I wonder whether the white traces on the president's head are made by pigeons which frequently visit...
The name sounds quite Slavic although written in a German way.
Very interesting reportage,
M
