The rufous-collared sparrow (Zonotrichia capensis) is one of the most well-known and esteemed birds in Brazil. Its Portuguese name (tico-tico) comes from the Tupi language and derives from its call. The song "Tico-Tico no Fubб" (literally, "Rufous-Collared Sparrow in the Cornmeal"), composed in 1917 by Zequinha de Abreu and immortalized in the voice of Carmen Miranda, is a Brazilian choro of international fame in honor of this bird. Here, instead of cornmeal, it's eating remains of popcorn.

Hello Alexandre,
You captured this little bird while it was having dinner. It may not be the immediately most beautiful looking bird, but there are nevertheless fine details in its plumage, like the white spots on its head and throat, and the small orange area on the back of its head. That spot is nicely matched by an orange reflection in the blurred distance. It's another very sharp photo and the warm light is an obvious bonus.

I know it isn't easy to photograph birds so clearly, though you make it seem so!
This is an excellent shot of the sparrow. Its plumage is detailed, there is a catchlight in its eye and it is even caught eating a seed!
Lovely sharpness against the oof, b/g.

To properly write my critique, I just watched Carmen Miranda singing the "Tico-Tico no Fubб" song. I've known the marvelous Carmen Miranda ever since I was a kid, but never saw/heard this particular song. Classic Miranda!

So, about the picture, I truly like how you framed this little guy and the focus is perfect on his head. He's even having a bite, quite a moment. Good DOF makes him the only protagonist. Well done, Alexandre!

what a strange bird! It looks like a normal sparrow at the bottom but is so colorful around the neck. I suppose your title and note explains it all.

Impresionante imagen de esta espectacular pared rocosa en vertical, con sus variados tonos de color, magnifico POV captando a la izquierda ese pino que parece competir en altura.
Despues de un largo periodo que necesitaba como descanso y para dedicarme a mi nuevo cambio de residencia, de Madrid me he trasladado a vivir a una ciudad mas pequeсa a 30 km. Alcala de Henares, una bonita ciudad con mucha historia y muy agradable y tranquila.
Como mas informacion ya que me parece has intentado localizar en el mapa te dire, que se encuentra en la autovia que comunica Madrid con Barcelona y a los km que indicaba arriba, a mitad de camino esta el Aeropuerto de Madrid-Barajas, y su poblacion es de 200.000 habitantes.

Que habilidad tienes para captar pajaros, aunque tu pais es muy rico en fauna y flora, captado con gran nitidez como es habitual le hace destacar aun mar sobre el fondo difuro.
En Espaсa el gorrion es un pajaro muy comun y abundante, pero sin esas plumas de color en el cuello.
Una magnнfica gama de colores, en unos tonos, muy atrayentes.
Buena gestion de la luminosidad y de la nitidez.
Muy bien hecho. Me encanta.
Que tengas una buena semana.
