Mog das Cruzes has an older and dense occupation, with a nucleus urban provided good of infrastructure, where tertiary activities prevail. The municipal district also has significant industrial and agricultural activity, being one of the largest producing of hortigranjeiros of the Metropolitan Area.

Mog das Cruzes is considered national reference in the production of horticultural. Pole technology irradiador in the production of fruits, green vegetables, vegetables, flowers and eggs, the city receives researchers of the whole world. They are almost 100 years of horticulture in the area, introduced by the Spaniards and Italian. It is hugged by the Japanese immigrants.
