Nice view of Two Brothers mountain (thank you for your comments = )from the beach of Ipanema-Leblon in February of 1997.

Most of the land that Ipanema consists of today once belonged to Josй Antonio Moreira Filho, Baron of Ipanema. The word "Ipanema" comes from the old Tupi language, meaning "bad water"; in the sense of bad for fishing, since the waves die too close to the sand, pushing fish away.

Ipanema gained fame with the start of the bossa nova sound, when its residents Antфnio Carlos Jobim and Vinнcius de Moraes created their ode to their neighborhood, "Girl from Ipanema."

Iґm sorry,Francisco, that view is not the Sugar Loaf (Pao de Aзucar). There is another mistake: In the background is "Leblon" a residential area in Rio de Janeiro.

Hi Francisco!
Though the picture's good, I agree with Nivaldo on the mistake: that's not the "Sugar Loaf" (Pгo de Aзъcar), but "Morro dos Dois Irmгos" (Two Brothers Mountain).
Besides that, this beach includes Ipanema and Leblon, as Nivaldo also told you.
