Photographer's Note
I took this picture during a tour arround the favela Rocinha in Rio de Janeiro, the biggest slum in South America, known mostly because of criminals, drugs, violence... This favela is now "ruled" by A.D.A.(Amigos Dos Amigos), a drug gang lead by a 23 year old guy.
But what I found most important is that I could learn from the tour that not only criminals live in favelas, maybe a 90% of its population are just poor people, who has no other place to settle. The population of favelas in Brazil is increasing continuosly and at a rate bigger than the rest of the population. Just here live more than 100.000 people. During the walking tour arround its streets I was able to talk to the friendly inhabitants and working people of this neighbourhood...

The motion blur of the boy running againts the still background is excellent. Daily life shots are always a delight to see. TFS
