Ciao Ricardo,a great goft for me and Silvio with this magnificent beauty of your country. This isn't a Vanessa atalanta, a species living in Italy too, but a "Anartia amathea", the brown peacock (scarlet peacock, red peacock), a species of nymphalid butterflies. This is a fantastic capture of a beautiful butterfly. The photo is so sharp and clear and it's enhanced by the perfectly blurred neutral background. The intense colours of the wings are well balanced by the white flower. It's very well done.

The vivid red spots on its wings make the butterfly stand out from afar.
