Photographer's Note

When the province of Gois was created by the Portuguese king, the Count of Arcos was named to be its first governor. The small city was one of the most remote spots in the Portuguese empire and the count wanted a palace to keep his family and the government before to come in. The building was created in 1751, in baroque style, even at side of the Cathedral.
