One more picture taken in the PUERTO MADERO/MADERO HARBOR area! It used to be a decaying region of the city (as it usually happens with old harbors in cities all over the World), but it's being remodelled in the recent years and it's become a pretty fancy spot, with office and residential buildings, plus restaurants, bars and dancing clubs! During the day, it's lively with people strolling, walking hand in hand, skating, jogging and so forth!

With this picture, I go on with a new series here at TE, showing some landmarks of BUENOS AIRES, the ARGENTINA'S CAPITAL CITY and the SECOND largest city in SOUTH AMERICA, considered a mix of several european cities (Madrid, London and Paris)!

Although the city has faced many economical crisis in the last decades with obvious decay of life quality in many aspects - today one can find homeless people, beggars, dirt, a certain violence in the streets and slums in its outskirts - the good spirit of the city still remains: Fun at night, with lots of people going out around midnight and going back home with sunlight still exists! Wonderful buildings and monuments are still all over the place!!!

Very fine vertical take. Fine cranes and sky-scrapers. Superb reflection. Good contrast. Very good information.

Neyvan,
The vertical format works great here allowing us to see the height of the buildings as well as the reflection. The lighting and colors are fine and the photo has great sharpness. The reflection adds depth and balance for the shot.

Hi Ney,
I said it already today to Aires: I like very much cranes, and yours are surely so original and colorful and there are two of them. Plus the whole scenery is fantastic. I like very much the modern buildings. The reflection makes it even more beautiful.

Interessante o contraste entre os guindaches e os prйdios modernos ao fundo. Espero que a regiгo portuбria do Rio (que irб sofre grandes alteraзхes pra copa e olipiadas fique assim).
Bonitas cores e lindos reflexos. A sombra de um veleiro na бgua tambйm й bonito, mas parece que as бguas sгo bem poluнdas pela cor.

Hello Ney, It is the very rich & vibrant colours in this image that first attracted my attention, a real eye catcher. Nice colour contrast between the cranes & mostly blue BG, these colours are also well reflected in the FG water. These days I'm usually in bed before mid night but a different story with the young. You made good use of the FG where you caught nicely the distorted reflections which made for an interesting visual impact. The light had enhance the vividity of the colours.

These crane were there when I was in BA. Glorious colours and vertical framing, although a Vari ND duo would give you a real slow shutter during the day to smoothen that water ($450 US - It's lots to buy). Tight framing but it works, good urban scene.
