2 photos today that don't have waterfalls - just scenic views along Milford Sound. The tiny island in the main one was out near the ocean entrance tp Milford Sound.
A couple people have wondered about the term "sound". It is a fairly common English geological/geographical term for a river valley flooded by the sea.
The second WS today does have waterfalls but just lots of very thin ones cascading down the rockface.

Hello Ian,
I wouldn't like to get stranded on that desert island. It looks totally inhospitable, but it provides a fascinating view.
"Sound" was probably brought to the British isles by the Vikings. The word is still "sund" in the Scandinavian languages.
Best regards,
Gert

Hi Ian,
You have captured well the power of the current or flow of the river. The point of view is showing the details of the small island and of the cliffs. There is a good contrast between the colors of the picture. Have a nice day.

Hi Ian
Somehow, the greens look enhanced by the overcast light. The shapes of the trees and shrubs, especially on this charming little island are fascinating. You made the best of the weather, kind of when some other landscape photographers wouldn't bother. Especially the low cloud - it's the icing on the cake.
The bonus images give us a better idea about the views around the main one.
Best wishes
Kasia

Hello Ian,
You placed this small rocky island very well in the centre and the many trees on it stand out clearly from the foggy slopes in the background.

Hi Ian,
Plenty of photogenic scenes in this famous spot. You have well explored the area. The weather was challenging with the mist adding an extraordinary mood to the scenes.
Excellent reportage,

Hello Ian,
I didn't know the term 'sound' in English.
Wonderful how trees grow on that very small rocky island.
Apparently the trees have found ground for their roots after all.
Beautiful fresh green foreground with a misty background.
Best regards, Paul
