Photographer's Note
The rest has been said in my previous four posts, but many have asked about the photo details. This one had:
Fstop: f/4
Exposure time: 3.2 seconds
Focal length: 6mm
Max Aperture: 2.875
Tripod used.
Vantage point: New Farm cliffs above Brisbane River Facing Story Bridge and City.
Might stop posting Riverfire shots now for a while and give you all something new. Post the rest later, to keep things fresh.
Thanks for stopping by.

Another great one Matthew...the wider version of "version III"...great composition, perfect exposure resulting in really nice color, sharp, detailed, complimentary framing, etc, etc. Honestly, I really have no nitpicks whatsoever (and that is rare) - even the bushes in the lower right don't bother me. They show you were "grounded" and don't protrude, or block any of the background.
Great work.

WOw, that's lots of action in 3.2 seconds. But it's a prefect exposure because there are lots of details in everything, enough fireworks, and you've captured the boat well, too. I like the tight feel of this shot, too. Nicely done!

Hi Matthew,
A nice selection of images from this amazing event. So many fireworks in 30 mins eh.....must of been breathtaking if not a little deafening! Good exposure with no burning or unattractive shadows.Nicely saturated with good colour.....well done.

Hi Matthew
Framing is a bit tight for my taste, & the symmetry of the bridge span at right suffers as a result. But sharpness, colour, lighting & overall composition are superb. Tfs!

Hello Matthew. Just caught up with this one. Superb night/fireworks shot on long exposure. The vantage point is really good and you did well to catch the boat in its position. It can't have been moving very fast with a 3 second exposure! Unlike Chris, I like the tight crop.
Regards,
Andrew

Too nice. I have never been anle to capture fireworks this way. You did a very nice job with the colours and sharpness. The view is excellent with the bridge becoming a strong focal point in the image. Nice one Matt.

hi matt
this is probably your best shot of this event. may not be my favourite, but i think composition and result-wise, it's my pick. i was on my way to kangaroo point for this event but when met with the number of people going, i abandoned my mission and went home to catch up on some much needed sleep. well done, though...

Hello Matthew,
I've thoroughly enjoyed your Riverfire series. In Providence, Rhode Island, where my son lives, they too have Riverfire celebrations, but I had no idea that it was practiced down under. Have a good weekend,

compo works very well with all the fireworks giving a nice effect to the whole lot. Good choice to include the boat in the foreground for the perspective.

Hi Matthew, what a fantastic night capture this is. I believe you timed the shot well with the foreground boat which strengthens the composition. Very nice work..
