Brisbane's Bridge, a photo from Queensland, East

Photographer's Note

The Story Bridge is one of Brisbane's most outstanding landmarks. Built in the 1930's, the bridge spans the Brisbane River joining The Valley with Kangaroo Point. The traffic under the superstructure is comprised of from left to right, a citycat (fast paced city ferry), the Kookaburra Queen Paddle Steamer and a smaller connection Ferry. The tall feature plant to the left of the image is a type of New Zealand Flax plant. Night photography is not a well practiced art of mine, but I think this was not a bad result for my first night test. Visitors to Brisbane can climb to the top of the structure on guided tours.

Hi Matt,
Great shot of the Storey Bridge. The colours and reflections are lovely. You've exposed the photo well, capturing the motion lines of the ferries. I like the contrast of the dark, dramatic sky with the bright city lights. Good composition with the tree on the left framing the photo nicely. Good job!
