Photographer's Note
I've got out of order with photos from my Queensland trip and am now going back to the Atherton Tablelands inland from Cairns to catch up.
As we drove out of the small town of Mt Molloy we spotted some old mining related ruins (we thought). A large square chimney had a shrub growing out of the top with the remains of shrubs part way up as well. My research indicates that it was actually a saw mill steam plant, despite some photos being labelled “mining relic”.

Hi Ian
wonderful subject, this is great. It is already my favourite subject of the day :) and yes, Mother Nature will always win in the end, evidenced by the trees up top. love the clouds, the blue sky, the red brick. very cool and interesting
cheers

Hello IAn ,
I like a lot this kind of abandoned building. The ol bricked walls are very attractive . The green shrub has replaced the smoke ... when nature has the upper hand .

Bonjour Ian,
J'aime beaucoup ces vieux bâtiment d'époque pourtant pas si lointaine. La brique est ici à l'honneur et elle offre de bien jolies textures dans cet environnement qui recommence à reprendre ses droits.
Amicalement

Hello Ian,
Don't you find that researching scenes that you have photographed is part of the fun!
I knew Craig would be in Heaven when he saw this, the more derelict the better!
You have done a fine job capturing and revealing the details of this saw mill; we can clearly see the framework of the chimney and the canisters connected to it.
We may not completely understand how it all worked but it is very interesting to view features, like this, that were once an integral part of the community that lived there.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Ian, Not so important what it is, it looks very interesting and no wonder you wanted to see it closer. Nice shrubs on top. Interesting machinery. Excellent presetation.

Bonjour Ian,
La belle luminosité a été bien exploitée pour nous montrer les détails de cette vieille construction en brique. J'aime bien le bouquet de verdure qui chapeaute le tout.
