Photographer's Note
There was a large colony of fruit bats which roosted in Melbourne's Botanic gardens. So numerous were they that they were damaging non-native trees in the park and causing a bit of a smell. After a number of attempts to relocate them they finally moved to Yarra bend park, itself in an intercity area. There are many thousands of them there now. Here are a few of them hanging in a tree with the moon appearing in the sky behind them

A nice balance, show of the background and the bats. A mono will also look good.

This is a well balanced soft picture. Simple and yet lots od details. You can even see the eye of the first bat.

Stephen, this composition is great!
Night is coming and in a few minutes all of them shall be in the air hunting! You were there before their leaving. Very good sharpness where it was a need and a blurred DOF.
Best wishes,
Athanasios.
