Dawn's Glow, a photo from California, West

Photographer's Note

Taken on west shoreline of Mono Lake at the last TE meeting. Two nd grads were used to keep some of the details in the shadows of the shoreline. Some wide angle distortion was corrected also. Thanks again Peter, Doug, & Pat for putting together a wonderful trip.

Sorry about the 600 ppi wide my actions only save at 1024, 900, 600.

Hello Steve -

A very nice composition and good use of the grads to control the light. My only comment is that the image is a bit too blue and needs some color correction. That's just my opinion though. Anyway, well done.

Steve, the image is superb and I wish it would be in my collection! However, I cannot follow you in your explanation regarding the size. What software do you use that allows you such restricted options?
I have to agree with John regarding the blue hue. Maybe a little bit of red might give a good balance.

Hi Steve,
This looks like a moonscape on fire. I love the detail you captured in your cool, dark foreground framed against the hot explosion of colr. Lovely!!
