Photographer's Note

This is an old bridge found in Capon Springs, West Virginia. Capon Springs is a very small town. The stream is Capon Springs Run which is a tributary of the Cacapon River. There was a sign to the left that told about the bridge and here is how it read:

"Historic Whipple Truss. It was built in 1874 on US 50 near Romney, WV and re-erected here in 1938. It was in use in until 1991 and it was made a historic site in 1992 by WVDOT (West Virginia Department of Transportation). It is the oldest of the few remaining Whipple Trusses left in West Virginia."

This was taken around 5pm this past Saturday.
