Photographer's Note
Chicago's new Frank Gehry's Millennium Park Bandshell dwarfed by highrises.
This 4,000 seat amphitheater with a lawn seating of 6,000 has a highly sculptured design element clad in stainless steel panels. It features an unparalleled acoustic system created by the Talaske Group, Inc. of Oak Park, IL. The first permanent outdoor installation of its kind in the United States, the new sound system features digitally processed "virtual architecture" and an open-air acoustical canopy to create a state-of-the-art sonic experience. It is the most sophisticated outdoor sound system of its type in the world.
This is Gehry's first building in Chicago.

It is really dwarfed. If it wasn't for your note, we would have been mistaken for thinking the highrise is the Bandshell.
It's nice that you still remember how the rural elements is, back in the Philipines. Rural and pastoral with the wuiet ambience, marked contrast where you are now. Highrise concrete and steel.

Hi Ken,
This is really beautiful framing, giving Chicago's skyline a thoroughly modern, subtly textured look, with a view north from Millennium Park. It almost reminds me of a 1950s-1960s aesthetic of Chicago, except that a few of the buildings are actually from the last 20 years or so. I love this shot!
Thanks for sharing it.
Best,
José
