Photographer's Note
I was walking around the inside observation deck at "Top of the Rock", and these two young boys were captivated by the view south, including the Empire State Building. For me it was a very nice moment, combining the wonder of youth with the wonders of Manhattan.

Hello Brenda
Very nice idea.
Composition looks unparalelled, good placing of the empire state building and the boys in the window.
A little bit of noise in the shot but it works fine.
Thank you for sharing.

The view alone would make this an interesting image, but the inclusion of the two boys really lifts this photograph up several levels - a wonderfully caught scene...well done indeed!

Well seen and nice picture...
Seems a little bit tilted but probably due to the fact that was taken from an angle...

Excellent POV. Love the way you have captured this through the eyes of the young boys. I hope they grow up to see a more peaceful world.

I think it is a fantastic "kids view" of Manhattan. The light coming through the window from the right is fantastic. The kids and the ES Building are very well framed with the window. Very, very nice picture.

Hi Brenda,
an amazing image of my favorite city. A great POV with these boys in the window and the view to the south of Manhatten. Something different from NYC. Didn't see it before this way. Cool.

Great shot! I'd like to see it without the cut in the frame by the window sash lock and horizontal. You really have something captivating here, Brenda.

Hi Brenda!
What a lively lovely treasures gallery, I'm glad I could pick that one among your pics!
I like young fellas on the photos because they never pose nor stare to the camera. And I like to see their faces turned away in wonder, because it allows our imagination to go along with theirs! It makes them all the more expressive.

Flawless! This shot has it all! This is a timeless picture that could have been shot many years ago or many years ahead and still enclose the same ingenuity of childhood and the magnificence of Manhattan. Great shot, Brenda...

It's a superb shot - the composition is perfect, using the window as a frame, it's dimensions fit the Empire State Building perfectly. But the real winning point here is of course the inclusion of the two boys, which really helps to convey your point about the wonder of youth. Even with adulthood New York doesn't lose any of it's appeal, I spent what seems now like an enternity standing on the 86t floor of the Empire State building gazing out over the city!

Hola Brenda,
Josep

What a magic place, and good to see a different view of the Empire State. From your picture and because of the kids, it looks like a private flat with a cool view.

Hello Brenda.
I have to take a look at this picture first because your composition is so outstanding. The position of the boys looking through the window to the outside, the play of light and shadows and the very simple tones make for an outstanding shot. Good control of the exposure, while it is very bright it works wonders in this shot.
Well seen.

I like these kind of pictures, when you don't see the faces but you can wonder about what's going through their mind.
Maybe you could have taken the children entirely (the feet are cropped here) and at the same time you could have get rid of this window beam.

Hi Brenda !
This picture is amazing. Above all I like the way the kids are looking through the window. I would like to know what they had really seen... The tones are great as well as the light. Of course, the Empire State Building adds something powerful to the picture. There is no doubt that it is NYC. Congratulation Brenda.
Good stuff.

Brenda,
The light came in at a perfect angle. Very good lighting effect on the boy. What a window with a view. Looks like this woindow is pointing to the southern tip of Manhattan? It is sad to realize the WTC is no longer there.

Hi Brenda,
This is a really wonderful shot, with an apt title. Well captured moment of these two young boys staring out at the world from high above Manhattan. I like the framing very much, with just the right amount of window and the Empire State Building within the space. The exposure level, sharpness, saturation, all seem good to me.
Thank you for sharing this great shot and note.

I keep coming back to this one! The muted colours and the feeling of intimacy [emphasised by the square format] despite the huge vista beyond make this special for me.

these boys watching the buildings in NYC are very nice shown. I liked the way you show them and the city, the frame of the window like a magic machine. I think colors weren't the beste here and it would be interesting a version in B&W. anyway it is a nice image

Hello Brenda,
I like the idea behind the composition!
The difficult inside-outside light situation is well managed and the result has fine details and good depth...
Composition is balanced and their view guide our eyes too, maybe take a step or two to the left side to create a stronger diagonal from their eyes to the ESB..?

Hello Brenda,
You're capturing well this spectacle by a good composition and excellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see Manhattan's view included Empire State Building. There are many skyscrapers in a view. And, it's so friendly and effective for two boys wearing same shirt and short pants at observation deck.
Kind regards,

Hi Brenda,
Indeed, what a great capture ! You only see the brothers'backs, but their attitudes say a lot of the awesome feeling they have in front of this magnificent view !
I like the relative sharpness of the Empire State building against the bluish skyline of South Manhattan.
Great contrast too between inside and outside ! You managed the light conditions wonderfully.
Kindest regards.

Brenda, you may believe it or not, pictures presenting people with their heads turned back to look through the window behind which we can see a giant metropolis belong to my favourite ones. It perfectly shows how tiny we-people are, how curious, observant and distant we should remain towards our surrounding. Lovely photo. Thanks a lot for sharing! :)

Beautiful how these two boys are attracted by the stunning view over Manhattan and the surrounding waters.
Including them you get a very attractive composition together with the wonderful panorama.
