Photographer's Note
This is the last shot from the ones I took for the introduction to photography class. This one was an extra credit assignment, a time exposure.
This shot was taken at Robert Badham Beach in Corna Del Mar. I used the large format camera with a semi wide angle lens, and two filters. I used a ND.3 filter and a Red 25. The exposure was ~7 seconds at F16, it was about an hour before sunset looking south.

I'm lost for words! This photo is excellent! Well composed and a very interesting effect of the smooth water among the rocks. I think the red filter works well here, it would not have been nearly as dramatic without it. I assume you used a ND filter so you could get a longer exposure?

Very nice. The rocks in front don't do a lot for me though. Cropping out the bottom 3/5ths turns it into a more ethereal, wide view.

This was beautifully done! The water looks so surreal. I hope you get an A in this course! :-)

Suberp shot. I go agree with claudeo on the cropping to enhance the composition but it is beautiful as it is too. Excellent execution to bring your vision into action. Very, very well done.

Great work!!! I love the effect you did with the long exposure. I know that beach very well I have many photos of that rock in the upper right hand corner. My Father lived at Corona Del Mar for 9 years when I was a kid and now I take Daughter and Wife there as often as I can. Thank you sharing you wonderful photo. :-)

Extra cedit due Fred :) Fabulous textures in the rocks. Great DOF. And perfect timed exposure. I love this picture... looks like something out of "Lord of the Rings"...

Artistic interesting shot where the long exposure is essential for the total. Good job Fred in a composition shot from a good angel and including the three classical elements of fore- middle- and background.

Great DOF and composition. Adjust the levels and you will get an even more impressive scene with bright white and deep shadows. In the darkroom I would suggest another gradation (around 4) for enlarging, that you get more punch.

Very nice shot. I like the misty atmosphere. great composition. Personnaly, I would have increased the contrast to get real deep black. I made a WS. Great shot anyway.

Fred, this is very good! I think the your intro class was more than an intro class. Very good POV and DOF. Black and white is the perfect choice.

Hello Fred
The photography in black and white is not of my taste (it seems to me very dramatic).
Nevertheless there are his exceptions. This photo has a very suggestive scene, with I touch of smoothness and harmony, besides to have a good composition.
Good work
John
