Photographer's Note
This is another part of depth of field project for my introductory photography class. This one is maximum depth of field.
The subject is the train station in Santa Ana. If any of you have seen the movie Rain Man with Dustin Hoffman, you might remember it. This is the train station that is at the end of the movie.
For this shot, I used a Linhof 4x5 with a wide angle lens. The shot was taken at F16 and to increase the depth of field I tilted the front and rear elements. Durring processing, the section under the eves was too dark so I did some dodging there.

Very well done. If I were your instructor you would get an "A" for this project. But since this is TrekEarth, all I can give you is a big smiley.

Nice wide angle shot! And, excellent you are teaching classes about it! - Just a remark: I recently found out how to have incredible DOF with normal or tele lenses. Digital photography allows stitching. In the meantime, programs are doing a pretty good job on it. The focus will be fine for the middle of each shot, with the effect that after stitching it seems almost everything can be in focus! An example is the "graffiti panorama" or the "vertical panorama" in my portfolio. Do you teach any of that already?
