Photographer's Note

White Pocket in the Vermilion Cliffs National Monument is famous for its contrasting white and red stone and the usually clear blue sky it lives under.

I'd visited before and, remembering this tree and the deeply etched white rock around it, I searched out the tree again. In the workshop I've posted the colored version of the photo, but I felt this version, using the high contrast blue filter, yielded a more dramatic result.
