Photographer's Note

The holiday season is in full swing, and yesterday I took a walk around the midtown area of Manhattan to take photos of the trees and decorations.

One thing that people look forward to seeing every year, are the window displays at different department stores around the city. Here is a wide view of the display at Saks Fifth Avenue, which sits directly across the street from Rockefeller Center.

This year, the six main windows have a theme of reconnecting with family and loved ones during the holiday season. Children from New York City made drawings of their holiday dreams, and artists and engineers at Saks Fifth Avenue brought them to life.

You can also see various lights on the faade of the store, but since I took photos during the day, I wasnt able to see the beautiful light show that takes place every day after dusk. The lights change colors, and, together with musical selections, they create a fabulous display.

In the WS is a closer view.
