Photographer's Note
These great cacti can live to be 200 years old. The side pipes or arms will show up at around 50 to 75 years of age. They are only found in Arizona in the United States. I like the sepia treatment to give it an old west dated feel.

Hi Jimmy,
That big cactus is iconic to Southwest, but I had no idea they are only found in Arizona. Sidelight is just right and half cloudy background works well. B&W is fine too and this cactus was already there in times when great Western stories were born.

Hi Jimmy, the sepia treatment is like a metaphore about the age of this cacti,so old and so big and a very attractive thing to watch during a trip in Arizona, imposing perspective and excellent sharpness for a very original post,i like it! Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

Hello Jimmy,
I like the sepia, and the upward POV. The cloud patterns in the sky also make an interesting background. I don't know much about cacti, and I'm wondering about the holes seen on them. Take care!

Hi Jimmy
Magnificent Cacti in the wild full of prickly detail, certainly a biggie here nicely taken and perfect for mono Jimmy. Definitely a look with fantastic pov but don't touch image, and I would like to associate this with the wild bunch, the Indians and gringos wearing sombreros, hee.. hee. That's a most impressive piece of nature's sculpturing. Excellent shot
Best regards

Hello Jimmy, I was in Arizona Saguaro National Park, so I saw many such mighty iconic cacti. I like this presentation in sepia very much. Excellent composition.

Hi Jimmy,
Good sharpness (pun intended) in this superb b&w image of the saguaro cactus. I tried to get out to 2 national park reserves from Tucson but there were no public buses or tours. Car only. Around Tucson they seemed to prefer well drained hilltop locations. Did manage to spot a couple at the old Mission. Excellent tonal range and texture too. Tfs!

I visited a small part of arizona but I was not lucky to find this special cactus. I like them a lot. I only saw one in a city of Namibia (Africa). excellent view and option for B&W.
take care
jorge
