My previous picture showed you Duane Allman's gravesite, this is the man's bedroom.

THE BIG HOUSE is located at 2321 Vineville Avenue, Macon, GA. In January 1970, it became the house where members of the Allman Brothers Band and their roadies, friends and families lived until 1973. It was the focal point of gathering in those early years when the magic that is the Allman Brothers Band was taking shape.

The Big House now is The Allman Brothers Band Museum. Music fans can admire various vintage instruments and other memorabilia. Upstairs you find the bedrooms of both Duane Allman and Berry Oakley, the "oriental room" (for smokes and listening to music) and even the bathroom of the band.

THIS PICTURE shows Duane Allman's bedroom in its striking blue walls and a replica of Goya's Maya Desnuda on the wall. Quite a surprise for me to discover that one of my favourite guitar players is a fan of one of my all time favourite painters.

Hello benny,
Duane Allman was just a name for me. For some reason, which I don't remember, I never listened to him very much. About this photo it's not the kind of bedroom I would expect a very young man to have, unless his mom took care of it. My own bedroom when I was in my early 20's looked very different. It's interesting to note that he had a Goya replica on the wall instead of a Playboy playmate of the month.

Sobere slaapkamer maar voldoende om de nacht door te brengen
Prachtig in beeld gebracht met de blauwe wanden en het schilderij.
Het bed lijkt mij een mooi eiken te zijn.

Another lovely composition this time with the musician's bedroom. Wonderful details and colour contrast between the furniture and the wall. The tight framing restricts the view to the essential elements without any distractions.

Leuke ouderwetse charme. Het doet me een beetje denken aan de slaapkamer van mijn grootouders. Doch zij hadden geen 'La Maja Desnuda' van Francisco Goya aan de muur hangen.

I don't know what it is, but there's something very pleasing and calming about this room - and NO its not because of the naked woman, if that's what you're thinking :) Seriously, I find the ambience calming. Interesting connection with the painter, which you shared with us in the note. Looks like a very small bed. excellent post, i'm sure it means alot to you personally. cheers
