Midday Cowboy, a photo from Louisiana, South

Photographer's Note

When I saw this fellow, I immediately thought of the movie title ”Midnight Cowboy.“ However, this was during the day, so my title for this is Midday Cowboy. He was engrossed in his smartphone, probably accessing information much more than WWII era Germans could dream of accessing with their Volksempfдnger units.

I know, it is a bit noisy. In fact, Ike (ikeharel) might scold me for using high ISO. If I were a professional photographer, I would have carried a tripod (having made special arrangements with the museum), asked everybody to hold their poses before shoting this, or I would have placed flashes strategically (again, having arranged with the museum) and then, ...., you get the point. I put up with noise as a price for spontaneity.

Gьnyarısı Kovboyu

Bu adamı gцrdьğьmde, hemen “Geceyarısı Kovboyu” filminin başlığını dьşьndьm. “Ancak, bu gьndь, bu yьzden başlığım Gьnyarısı Kovboyu. Akıllı telefonuyla meşguldь, muhtemelen İkinci Dьnya Savaşı dцneminde Almanların Volksempfдnger birimleri ile ulaşmayı hayal edebileceklerinden зok daha fazla bilgiye erişiyordu.

Biliyorum, biraz gьrьltьlь. Aslında, Ike (ikeharel) yьksek ISO kullanımı iзin beni azarlayabilir. Profesyonel bir fotoğrafзı olsaydım, bir tripod taşırdım (mьze ile цzel dьzenlemeler yaptıktan sonra), herkese bunu зekmeden цnce pozlarını tutmalarını sцylerdim, ya da stratejik olarak flaşlar koyardım (yine mьze ile dьzenledikten sonra) ve o zaman, ...., işte anladınız. Kendiliğindenlik iзin bir fiyat olarak gьrьltьye katlanıyorum.

The moment was a very decisive when taken, Murat, but I must say it once more: grainy due to ISO1600.
So this ruin the whole and I would not post this at all.
Sorry, but that is my opinion about this.

I enjoy this type of scene, its casual, its real, its a one time only shot too - unlike postcard type shots. Glad you captured the moment. the photo without the leaning man just doesn't work, with him, he's the perfect star of the show. good one. cheers

Personally I think the noise contributes to the atmosphere here. You have framed the shot nicely and managed the light exceedingly well. Happy New Year 2019.

Hello Murat,
Yes, it's noisy but I agree that spontaneity and catching the moment is more important than technical perfection. But some simple PP can usually reduce the noise. i like the relaxed pose of the young "cowboy" and I am always amazed that some people always find their cell phones more interesting than even the most interesting museum.

We get much grain this is not usual of your pictures.
1600 ISO is a little bit to much.
Composition are good to look at.

Hello Murat,
A good capture of one of the visitors in the museum with his large hat. Was he just not interested in the museum or did he want to find more background information on his phone? Let's hope the latter. Have a great New Year's Eve!

yes, the image is grainy, but it is marvelous because personages are well included and natural. very nice.
