Last year, I found this Statue of Liberty close to Central Park, but there is a huge number of Statues of Liberty in New York, so this year I found this example on Broadway, close to Times Square.

Indringend portret van deze glamourboy. Hij probeert je inderdaad dichterbij te lokken. Echt lijken doet hij overigens niet. Beetje zielig figuur al met al, maar mooi strak in beeld gebracht.

Hello Lars,
This is a fine portrait with amazing details and a perfect background. I guess there are few local symbols anywhere in the world that could be as tempting to street performers than the Statue of Liberty. Or is this actually a statue?

What a fine statue!
Pity there is no-one walking around the upper head, though there maybe within his head!
You have the perfect b/g for this close portrait, which adds textures but in no way detracts from the strength and the clarity of the figure.
The outstretched hand is very inviting, though the lack of eye-contact makes us a little anxious!

Hi Lars,
it looks very inviting indeed! Charming version of the famous statue. This year I have been very close to another version of it in Paris but I didn't have time to get close enough to take a photo.
Interesting colors and in general very richly accessories as opposed to relatively rough and simple original version :)

Too much sharpness, such as lighting are great.

this is a superb portrait with marvellous details and colours, the characteristics of the statue and the embellishment and attitude of the performer make the scene quite amusing. I like the blurry reflection, the contact with the viewer and the intimate atmosphere. I'm not sure for what reason, but I keep thinking of Elvis and hearing his music while looking at this portrait:) Congratulations and thank you!

Hallo Lars,
Het was me niet meteen duidelijk dat het om een levend vrijheidsbeeld ging en vond het al vreemd dat er meerdere zouden te vinden zijn in NYC.
Ik begrijp wel dat dit een gegeerd symbool is om als levend standbeeld te gebruiken. Waarschijnlijk willen de verschillende 'beelden' zo origineel mogelijk zijn.
Deze hier heeft dan toch wel enkele kleuren aangebracht en zorgde voor een blitzer uitzicht.

Greetings Lars,

Very nicely framed, with the 'larger than life' statue of liberty threatening to burst out of the frame (top, left and the outstretched arm at the bottom). The focus is sharp, and you have a very nice DoF with the background (which already looks fairly abstract) being defocused in to a background which is interesting but not distracting. I know a few African (especially Zimbabwean) craftsmen who could offer a very improved, bead-work version of the torch ;).
