Hana Reflections, a photo from Hawaii, West

Photographer's Note

We did the long winding road to Hana while enjoying a weeks vacation in Maui. Many love to stay on the sandy shorelines on the western side of Maui, but I have to admit that the Hana side is filled with the rugged side of nature in all its beauty. This particular location is along the shorelines where the red sand beach is located and I managed to find this still pool of sea water along the shore. Hope you like it...enjoy.
On note of post processing I must confess to using Photomatix HDR software being employed to create this kind of image. This explains why the sky is much darker than the reflection in the water.

May be a strong PP , but I like this picture , for the atmosphere , and the litte presence of the lonely people , between a fantastic sky , and its superb reflections in the pond .

Hi Paul,

I also prefer such a landscape than just sandy beaches. wonderful reflection of sky in the shallow water. I like the splashes of ocean. Very attractive composition. Splendid atmosphere of the remote place.

I really like this image, very beautiful the stark contrast between the rough seas and a mirror of water where there are reflections, very nice light and colors and of course the sky and its reflections....nice one...

Hello Paul,

Also when use you HDR your picture is very nice.
I think that man takes risks middle of the rock with the waves very close.
Excellent composition, nice depth and perspective.
