Photographer's Note
I guess this is a complimentary photo to my last uploaded one, where i showed you the Bay Bridge. Here we have the Iconic Golden Gate Bridge. It was extremely windy up here, walking in a straight line was very difficult. Using my tele lens to get this photo was not an easy task!
On our vacation to San Francisco, we were there for 7 days. Every day was warm and sunny, except for one, and that was the day we planned to walk across this bridge! Of course right!!
I'm not complaining, it was still fun, and a moment i will never forget. Even though the weather wasn't spectacular this day, the fog does add its own personal element.
We spent the day in Sausalito, the city 'on the other side' of the Golden Gate. We got there by Ferry, but we walked ALL the way back! wow!! what a long walk!!!
As we hit the Golden Gate, there is a rest stop area, and a look out point. This is one of the views you can get. It was a weekday, around 4 pm, so we caught the rush hour traffic.
I hope this shows you a different angle, one you havn't seen before.
Cheers
Craig

Hello Craig,
That look out point certainly offers a great view!
It's a curious sight to see all these cars appearing out of the fog or driving into it.
I'm a little surprised to see so many pedestrians. I understand that tourists like to walk over the bridge but are all these people tourists?
BTW, how long was the walk from Sausalito to SF?
And no, so far I had never seen a pic taken from this angle.
Best regards, Paul

Bonsoir Craig
A busy bridge indeed.
Your picture would not be the same without this typical fog, no ?
I especially like the tight point of view.

Un POV intéressant sur ce pont très fréquenté. La forte circulation automobile et la brume t'ont permis de réaliser un cliché très original.

Hi Craig,
this is wonderful!
I like it very much and I am so jealous. One day I have experienced similar fog over there and I tried to make a good use of it but I did not have idea how to do that.
This one is exactly something I should have done. The almost central POV showing few elements yet enough to identify the place.
Excellent work, congratulations!!!

ciao Craig,
grandioso l'effetto geometrico che si ricava dall'immagine con la struttura del ponte e al suo interno il grande incolonnamento di auto.
La nebbia conferisce particolarità alla scena,

Hi Craig
the GGB always looks magic in the fog and the long lens does it full justice here. See the traffic is still as bad as it always seems to be. An impressively executed shot, sharp and very effective. Well done!

Hi Craig
You still get the feel for the fog and how thick it can be. Good tele job and sturdy hand in getting so close for the details, so sharp and really effective being the 'working' image of the bridge and those traffic are icing on the cake. A very atmospheric capture indeed and the contrrast is superb. Splendid piece of work. Congrats

Hi Craig. This bridge is an ideal subject for photographers. Plays a central role in the mist. Everything now works full of atmosphere. Well observed and presented. Rgds, Wolfgang.

Hi Craig
Fantastic POV, the fog really creates a particular atmosphere. There's a definite "street" photography coming here and I this would come out even more in B&W. The landscape format is well chosen and I love the colours despite the fog.
TFS Fridays here yippee

Hi Craig!
Fantastic POV, I must say that this is quite original. The sharpness and depth of field is fantastic. San Francisco during summer is quite unpredictable, the weather is very erratic, sometimes it's clear in the morning and foggy in the afternoon especially near the bay. Are you serious? you walked from Sausalito back to the downtown? THAT is incredible! I could never imagine! Hope you had a blast!
Have a great day!
Matt
P.S. From which point did you took this shot?

Hi Craig,
this composition remembers me a bit the photo that elegantly you gave me when I asked for it you.
The flat perspective created by the long lens creates a very special image of this magnificent bridge, and six rails crammed with cars give a strong dynamism to the scene.
The fog adds a mysterious touch that works very well.
It is a magnificent photo, my friend.
Best regards,
Josep

Hi Craig,
I did exactly like you and walked to Sausalito and it's certainly a nice walk, the bridge itself being the highlight.
We don't perceive how curvy is the bridge when we look at it from the ground or while on it, but the compressed view of your telephoto lens amplifies the effect. The fog brings some depth, as the bridge slowly vanish with distance; a great mood is achieved consequently.
A very nice presentation!

Hello Craig,
This picture immerses me in emotional turmoil. I understand that I would never be able to live in megalopolis. In them I feel like a grain of sand, absorbed a huge ocean wave. This is an amazing picture. You found the perfect POV to show the monumentality of this bridge. TFS!

Hi, buddy!
Wow! Great shot, I'm jealous... Just outstanding choice of the point of view! This is one of the best photos of Golden Gate Bridge. TFS! As you know I also was here and I got a boat tour around the gulf, including the Bridge and Alcatraz.
