Photographer's Note

This a morning view from South Beach. The people are walking, the royal terns standing on the beach and looking at waves of the Atlantic Ocean.
By mid 1970s Miami Beach was almost beachless. Development on the island and erosion by the ocean had brought hotels and other building literally to the water’s edge. The city called for the cavalry, and between 1977 and 1981 the U.S. Army corps of engineers mounted a vast $51 million beach reconstruction operation dumping millions of tons of sand along the ocean-shore to for a 100-yard –wide stretch of beach. From Sunny Isles in the north to South Point Park, the 10-mile strips is divided into a series of beaches, each with its own character.

Czesc,
szczegolny nastroj jest w tym porannym widoku. Wprawdzie szerokokatna nasadka Raynox troche pochylila budynki ale ten spacer przy wzburzonych troche falach oglada sie przyjemnie.

Hi Ziggy,
I love this POV with the wide section of surge and sand in the foreground that leads the eye to the sharp birds and people with the buildings and clouds softening nicely in the distance. The light and color is superb. The note is fascinating. it is amazing that such a beach could be built and maintained.
