Photographer's Note

This image I took after a perfectly clear and warm day in the Wildlife Refuge surveying for birds. I was walking back from the Carty Unit's backwoods area when I turned and noticed that the fog was approaching quickly from the Oregon side of the Columbia River and had just enough time to set up and take this shot. It was eerie to see the scene first in clear and blue skies, and then moments later to see this dark and mysterious scene develop in front of me. A great moment...
I took this shot with my Tamron 70-210mm F 3.5 lens,
