Photographer's Note
Have you ever gone somewhere and been asked not to bring your nice camera for fear of it getting damaged by the elements? Yesterday I went clam digging near Westport, Washington - about 3 hours south of Seattle. High winds, hail and unseasonable cold made me question why I was out there. But what a sight it was to admire the patterns in the sand at low tide. All I had was a Panasonic Lumix, which still got sandy, but now I'm tempted to go back with a better camera! Oh yeah - the clams? I caught 13 of them. :)

Hello Claudia,
These patterns are definitely interesting. I was looking at them for a while! :-) I wonder why these types of patterns appear, and why there are two distinctive ones here. I have never seen similar ones on the beaches here in NY. Your photo is simple, but artistic. I like the way you filled the frame.

Hi Claudia very nice picture with wonderful graphic effect. The sand sculpted by water is amazing. Well done.
